This picture will get a lot of likes on social media, I know and it's kind of sad too because pictures of me actually doing worth wild things, challenging things, like sparring and hitting the heavy bag don't get a lot of likes. People are superficial like that. And well I'm well aware that "likes" don't mean anything in the bigger picture, it does and it doesn't because when you're a sponsored athlete or an entrepreneur, investors DO look at social media and they do use it to make a judgement call on who you are and what you're about.
Skin gets the attention. I refuse to be one of those pretty girls who just brings looks to the table so I only cared to show a glimpse of me in a bikini here. Pretty is so temporary, so superficial. It doesn't move mountains or break down stereotypes. It doesn't pave the way for the next generation with better equal rights or human rights. It's only a distraction from bigger, more important things. It's such a cliche.
I posted this one today on my social media as well. And while it got it's share of "likes", it definitely didn't compare to the attention brought on by the bikini attention. Do you know, I had several fans see that picture and then reach out to me. One claimed I was the love of his life while another sent a picture of himself blowing a kiss to me and one sent me a "man part" picture. Ya, I think I'll ditch the skin pictures if this the feedback I get from it. Wow.
