As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Bye, Bye Goldie

My day started up on such a sunny note... breakfast outside with my
four-legged little sunshine, Mr. Balboa Button.

It ended with him too, standing on my fresh-from-the-printers Empowered flyers.

In between breakfast and working into the late hours, I said goodbye to my goldy locks.

Off to Kapwa to get my hair dyed.
The last time I had my hair dyed was almost 4 months ago.. yikes.
"Colour me fierce", I told her and, well, that's exactly what she did.  Love it!!!
I should note my hair is so much lighter in person... silly lighting, stealing my fierceness.
I had spent a chunk of my day at the hair salon so with a long list of things I wanted to get done today, I ended up having to cancel my evening plans.  I was suppose to go to a big family dinner party.  Instead, I worked at home.  They surprised me by video calling me to check in, super sweet!

Goldie means blond. How did you say goodbye to goldie locks if you made your hair blonder than it was before?

Hi Anonymous,

It was actually very easy for me to say. There are over 20 different shades of blonde and I dropped the gold blonde and went for an ashy blonde.
