As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Getting Paid in Full... Thursday, May 31

I literally work for peanuts...

What do athletes need?!  Food, a place to train, and lots of training gear.  So it should really no surprise that I get paid in food, I'm not joking, and today was a prime example of just how true my statement really is.

I worked as a Korean translator today for two local hair shops.
My pay, strawberry smoothies for three of us.

I am the middle man... woman... between The Refined and the street's best roasted peanut kid.
My pay, they gave me free coffee and peanuts, how ironic.

Wore a company's branded shirt, modelled it at the boxing club and then tagged them in my post.
My pay, Turkish swarma.

Okay, so I got more than Turkish swarma for the last "job".  I got sponsored by them actually.  It's pretty sweet too, I'm not going to lie.  I'm now officially sponsored by Diamond Sneaks.  As for my other "paychecks", am hoping to add a full body massage to that.
