As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Working Hard or Smart... Friday, August 24

Friday night and I'm sitting on the couch half naked, unrolling, checking and re-rolling handwraps.

Ah the life of an entrepreneur.

The other day I plucked a roll of handwraps and unraveled it in front of my BoxHIIT Camp ladies.  The printing on it was on the wrong side.  I then grabbed a second roll but it too was wrong.  I was embarassed.  Was every roll done wrong?  The third roll was correct, the writing was done on the correct side, but it got me worried about the other rolls.

There are 40 pairs of handwraps.... that's EIGHTY individual handwraps.

OMG.

I lined them up on my couch.  The scaled not only the arm rests but also the back and they were stalked a few levels high.  I flipped on the TV and thought I'd simply watch a show while I wrapped the handwraps.

Two hours later and I was only done a couple of dozen.

I had ran out of the taping I'm using on the DIY packaging I created so I had to rush over to the mall and then continue with that, plus continue with the rolling.  My hand kept on cramping up and no sooner did I finish one pair but it's almost as if another pair suddenly appeared.  The pile just wasn't getting any smaller.

I spent about four hours today working on my handwraps -- finishing the thank you notes, buying the materials needed and crafting the individual packaging, and then rolling the wraps.

I'm not even half way done.

OMG.

It's moments like this that I know I'm working hard, I'm working super hard, but am I working the smartest.  I think I could be working smarter, for sure, but I don't know how to go about that just yet.
