Ummm... I may have a problem. I saw another possible location today. It's almost half the price of the location I saw yesterday but it's in Poblacion... and I really, really liked it.
I really like both spaces, they both have their pluses and their minuses.
BGC vs Poblacion, it's big difference though.
I can afford the Poblacion space and I can see myself being able to be more free to really push my training with my clients there because Poblacion is quite relaxed with their rules and regulations, and people there are generally more accepting of things like high noise levels and out-of-the-box thinkers. BGC, not so much. In BGC, you have to get a permit for someone to even be allowed to come and repair your air conditioner in your shop, that's the kind of 'uptightedness' businesses here have to deal with.
Uptightedness, my new word for BGC.
If I locate my private training studio in the BGC space, I can definitely see myself becoming the hated tenant, the noisy neighbour that the office people around me sit and complain about during lunch break.
A part of me says, "let them complain", people are going to complain no matter what you do. But I don't want to get any warning notices and being the annoying neighbour isn't cool. I'm 38, I'm rather over worrying about what others think of me, I'm too preoccupied with building my own business to honestly care, but a part of me does care and that's a fact.
But to pop up my private studio in Poblacion, it'd be like the speak easy of fitness places -- the unexpected badass place that many talk about but only few have seen. I'd use the money that I'm saving with going there as oppose to BGC and blast out the only one thing that bothers me in that particular space -- a wall that divides the unit into two rooms.
Honestly, I'm making enough money to cover rent in Poblacion and have some left over for expenses but BGC would leave me in the red for months... months!!! The potential of BGC going big though is definitely there and upping my services fees would be justified and expected because of the posh place I'd be situating it in. As for Poblacion, I'd up my prices a bit which would still justifiable and expected but the room for growth wouldn't be as big as with the BGC location. My thinking, go with Poblacion and then when I reach my potential there, take my earned money and built up clientele and then move it to BGC.
On Monday, I have a 4:30pm business meeting at the BGC space and it'll be decided upon then.
