As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Empowered Women... Saturday, September 29

I definitely have learned what boss babes, what fierce females, I want to pair empowered up with.

Wow.

This past week I've met and reconnected with some really inspirational women here in the Philippines, some real game changers, who I really want to be like.

At the human trafficking event I met some real ground movers and some of them asked me to collaborate with them.  I'm very excited about that though I don't know how I can even compare to what they're doing.  I want to change lives like them, move the ground, smash glass floors, and really start a ripple effect in the lives of others.

I met this incredible power house woman at the event and during my speech I focused on her so not to get emotional because she looked like such a bold, boss babe.  After my speech, I was introduced to her and my mind was blown.  The level of success this woman has aquired was nothing short of impressive but sitting there, she just blended in.

"A lion doesn't have to tell others it's a lion", is a quote that comes to my mind often these days when I think of these inspirational ladies.  Here they are, just doing their thing, slaying it, but they're not tooting their own horns or being flashy about it.  They're being subtle and nothing short of classy.  I have so much respect for them.

Today's event was an extended example of this, of women really owning who and what they are, and really focusing on self empowerment.  I sat through various speeches and was introduced to several people but what really got me was the level of vulnerability these women brought to the stage and with the event but in how making themselves vulnerable they were empowering not only themselves but those also at the event.
