As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Needing a Space ASAP... Thursday, September 13

On the hunt... again... for a possible location for Empowered.

Today I viewed a space that is pretty much a replica of a potential space I can rent, in the adjacent tower.  There are two towers to this particular condo complex --  one that is for residential and one that is exclusively for commercial use.  Today I viewed a unit in the residential tower and either tomorrow or next week I'll view the potential space being offered to me in the commercial space.

The unit is pretty kickass awesome, I'm not going to lie, and the layout of it is perfect.

It's a wide open square.

I'm looking at another space tomorrow, in Poblacion, so I'll have to pick which one I like, that is if I like both of them.  The likely hood of that happening however is quite slim but it's a possibility.

I just want to get my own space, pop up my private studio and start training my clients.  Physically, yes, it's tiring walking to all my clients but mentally it's really starting to take it's toll on me.  I'm just so mentally frustrated with training clients at spaces that aren't mine because it limits what equipment I can bring and I always have to maximize the use of the surrounding environment.  Throw in the fact that only a couple of my clients train inside and yeah, I also have Mother Nature to contend with.  Thankfully we're almost through the rainy season but the cancellations with training because of it was ridiculous.  My BoxHIIT Camp in BGC, for example, was postponed a full month because every Tuesday night when it came around to go train my small team of ladies, it'd rain.

I need to get my clients inside and I need to get a space.

The frustrations are real and they're many.
