As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

EXCITING BIG NEWS... Thursday, January 31

BIG NEWS!!! I just got the official go-ahead for my newest Lil' Sista Project addition, the Snail Mail Program.  Now to gather local sponsors and interested parties who would be so generous to help us get writing materials, etc.

Here's a brief lowdown on what the Snail Mail Program is...

THE SNAIL MAIL PROGRAM

PURPOSE
To launch a pen pal program between the Lil’ Sistas at the Center of Hope in Antipolo, The Philippines, and the young female fighters in the girls program at MJKO (Mentoring Junior Kids Organization) in Toronto, Canada. The Snail Mail Sistas Program to run an introductory trial phase of 6 months and then those involved will decide upon the next appropriate step. 

THE LIL' SISTA PROJECT
The Lil’ Sista Project was launched through Empowered Clubhouse as a community outreach project to help empower underprivileged and disadvantaged girls. The medium by which we empower the younger generation of females is through boxing and mentoring and we currently have 86 Lil’ Sistas, 26 of which are orphans or runaways in BGC and 50 of which are human trafficking survivors in Antipolo. They all have their own unique story of pain and challenges but we’re helping them to focus on just how resilient and brave each and every one of them are. Our focus is to mentor them, give them hope, and help them gain the confidence needed to reach their potential.

MJKO
Mentoring Juniors Kids Organization (MJKO) is a charitable organization that promotes positive and healthy lifestyle choices through mentoring and leadership training. Our goal is to create Community Champions through the sport of non-contact boxing.

PROGRAM MISSION
Snail mail provides the opportunity to break down the classroom walls and explore a world outside of them, outside of their everyday and familiar world. Through letters, they’ll be able to connect with a new friend that wouldn’t be possible any other way. The curiosity and interest it will spark will carry over to them improving their language skills and social skills as they continue corresponding with their designated Snail Mail Sista. This in turn will spark more interest and curiosity with not only those participating but with those not participating and could ultimately result in more asking to become involved and matched up. The benefits of this activity would then spread to more.
