As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Liking This and That... Sunday, January 13

"It's like the blind leading the blind... unless you have a bird box", Pastor P said during service today.

That was probably one of the funniest things I heard today and as I sat there giggling uncontrollably in my little church chair, with it squeaking and me shaking with the giggles, I thought to myself, this is pretty good.

I may have found my church here in the Philippines -- a little church that occupies a banquet room in a posh, members-only club called the Manila House.  The church isn't posh, it's actually quite simple and basic but that's why I like it.  There's no massive production or concert-like band, just a simple acoustic band on a small stage and a pastor who stands on the floor and not above us when he preaches.  It's nice.

It's real.

It's a great relief from the other churches I've gone too and while I'm not trying to hate on them, I'm also not trying to join them either or promote them.  Everyone has their tastes.  Their likes and their dislikes.

Today's service was a relief from all the anxiety I've been feeling lately and it was a nice slow down in pace considering I just had rugby practice in the morning.

All and all, church was really good, practice was really good... the day was just really good.

I capped it off with a light workout at the gym tonight -- cardio and core training.

My body is still feeling yesterday's workout.  I went rather too heavy, I know and I knew it when I was doing it too. I'm really liking this new gym I've been going to.  The trainers are all super friendly and they seem pretty professional too.  Fellow members there all train pretty hard and everyone there seems pretty positive.  I like it because there's so much functional training and non-traditional pieces of equipment there that I can have a field day on and get really creative with my workouts on.

So I like my church, I like my rugby team and I like my gym.

Next on my list is to like working for free for awhile because I predict we're going to have complications at the post office tomorrow so I better be prepared.
