As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Resolution Writing... Tuesday, January 1

My New Year's 2019 Resolutions

1.  Reach 10K followers on my IG: DeadAimAmy.
I don't need the validation and I really don't care about it but I know it makes my sponsors happy... and sponsors make me happy.  So if they're happy, I'm happy.

2.  Read 1 book a month.
I don't mean a nonfiction, novel kind of book, I mean something about sports psychology or entrepreneurial life.

3.  Acquire 200 Lil' Sistas.
Right now I have 84 but 26 of them are in "questionable status" because it's been like pulling teeth trying to get my contact here in BGC/Makati to set up dates for me to run the Lil' Pow Class.  My Lil' Sistas in Antipolo is going strong though so I'm super pumped about them.  It'd be awesome to reach out to a local all girls school here and add it to their extra curriculum.

4.  Do a professional photo shoot.
I've come close to doing this in the past and have actually done some for my boxing club in Korea, but I really want to get some done, especially now that I am sponsored by some seriously awesome sponsors and have Empowered.

5.  Start and finish a Tagalog study book.
I've started many... oh gosh... but haven't honestly got past the first couple of chapters, hence why this was one of my resolutions last year that I carried over for this year.

6.  Have 3 (athletic) competitions.
These competitions could be with regards to my boxing, running, vertical runs, rugby, Spartan, or whatever.  They just all have to be athletic competitions though.

7.  Break even at the Empowered studio.
The plan is to seriously buckle down and launch the Empowered private boxing studio sooner than later.  I'm getting super frustrated with waiting and holding off while I collect the rest of the investors.  I have an investor that I've had from the start and though what he's looking to invest isn't the full amount that I need, I'm thinking about just going with it and seeing how far I can stretch it out with Empowered.  So as for "break even at the Empowered studio", this is because right now, I don't have the full investment so the pressure to make revenue through my various sources (training, Slay line, gear, etc) is on.  But oh, how I do like a challenge!!!

8.  Post 3 Vlogs a month.
So far I'm going bonkers trying to upload and download the weight cutting video I did so I'm not too optimistic about this resolution but I know I just have to throw content out there.  It doesn't have to be perfect.  And, trust me, it's not perfect but figuring out how to post it is another story.  Can't share what I can't post!

9.  Launch my BIG Sista Mentorship Program.
This is going to be a biggie.  One that requires a lot of background screening and admin stuff but I'm optimistic that I can launch it.  It won't be till the end of the year though.  Another program that I'm looking to also launch is a penpal program with some of my Lil' Sistas and a boxing club in Toronto, Canada that I've already thrown the idea out at.

10. Participate in a fitness expo (Empowered).
March is Women's Month, I can't let that month go by without getting Empowered out there and in the public eye at an expo, a presentation, or some kind of fitness show.
