As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Women Warriors... Wednesday, January 16

Tonight I ran into one of my Lil' Sistas.  I had just finished training at Fitness First and was heading into the mall when this little one ran up to me, calling my name.  I turned and there she was, standing there starring at me, all smiley and giggling.  She was one of my Lil' Sistas from the Lil' Sistas Project.

She didn't really speak much English and my Tagalog is so limited, so we stood there giggling over Google Translate as I tried to tell her I was there for a movie and did she eat yet.  She was there with a friend, an older gal who I assume might have been a coworker.  As we parted ways I turned to wave goodbye and throw her one more smile but it wasn't until I got to the movies that I got a little choked up about it all.

I'm always so amazed at how positive and sweet the Lil' Sistas are.  The stories they could tell you would absolutely break your heart but their resilence is nothing but inspiring and so respectable.  I always feel a sense of humility and pride when I see them.  I am so very proud of them.  They are warriors.  Women warriors.
