As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Change of Path... Saturday, February 23

From BGC to Antipolo for boxing with 43 Lil' Sistas.
From Antipolo to Makati, for coaching boxing with one of my fighters.
From one part of Makati to another, to coach another one of my clients.
From Makati back to BGC, to work on my Snail Mail Program.

It was a packed day but it was a good day.  A very good day.

The Lil' Sistas out in Antipolo are getting good with their boxing skills, I'm impressed, so it means that I'm able to throw more complicated boxing exercises their way.  Today we did this partner exercise where they have to touch gloves with their punches as oppose to punching in the air.  For the totally inexperienced boxer, this would most likely result in them punching wild punches at each other but the Lil' Sistas are good and they're getting so much better.

It's interested to note their development and how they're progressing.  How many of them have really taken a liking to the sport and really put forth solid effort.  I respect that and I admire that.

I didn't have my assistant today.  She told me just the other day that she wasn't able to attend and it was too short of notice for me to go through the volunteer applicants and arrange for another to take her spot.  So it was just me and 43 Lil' Sistas and three containers of boxing gloves.

There was no time for me to really sit back and rest after coaching the Lil' Pow Boxing Class with them because no sooner did I arrive back in BGC but I had to race off to coaching.  I had two clients I had to coach today, both of which are ultra f-a-b-u-l-o-u-s.

It wasn't until around 8pm that I got to sit down and actually relax.

With a Timmies in hand, I sat on an outdoor patio set at Tim Horton's, reflecting on the day and thinking about what's next.  The plan with Empowered was always to get a private boxing studio and then pair up with a new and much anticipated company for a kind of "speak-easy" boxing club but now I don't know about that.  For starters, I'm really enjoying coaching my fighters one-to-one and I can't see their clientele being cool with me letting my Lil' Sistas come in and book the club for training.

I just want to coach my personal training clients and my Lil' Sistas.  I like the more hands on approach and interaction I have that comes with training just one client and I'd love to have my Lil' Sistas come in small groups for some training at a real boxing club.

I guess this is where I yell out "plot twist" and see how it goes.
