As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Looking for the Next Step... Friday, February 15

There are days like today when I wish my dad was here, to see the Philippines I live in, I experience, and to see the Philippines this amazing country is becoming.  Because tonight, at the event I attended, it felt nothing like the Philippines and, to tell you the truth, it felt like I was back in Toronto, Canada.

Tonight I attended the International Night at the British School Manila.  I've been there before, just to their playing field, but that's were tonight's event was being held, on the playing field were I had my first touch rugby game.

Part of the reasoning behind me attending tonight's event was to meet a particular man who may get my foot in the door with possibly launching an afterschool boxing program for the students.  I ended up meeting up with a lot of friends that I know and I wasn't actually introduced to this particular individual until the very end, when I had decided to leave.  No worries.  We had a brief meeting, an interest was sparked, and now to see where it goes from here.

I'm very much interested in the idea of an afterschool program, it's a middle point between my Lil' Sistas Project and my 1-to-1 personal training, and I think it'd be a great other experience and project to take on.
