As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

A Mid Day Break... Monday, July 22

I had coaching and meetings in the morning, followed by an intense session of boxing, and then I agreed to a movie date.  Yup, a mid day movie date.

I saw the movie "Lion King".

...and then it was back to the grind and hustle of being a small business owner.

The true test of my coaching and company is coming up next week when the soft opening promo memberships for most of my fighters comes to an end.  They'll either have to renew their membership for a 1 month, 3 month or 6 month membership, or end training with me here at Empowered.  Of course I'd love for them all to continue training with me, I want them to get those results they've been working hard for, but ultimately it comes down to their decision.

Today I fired a fighter, a client who has repetitively cancelled and been a no-show.  How's that for a rough start to the new week, right?!  It had to be done though because what you allow, you accept and what you accept you better expect it on repeat.  I refuse to commit to people who can't commit to me because, honestly, I can't help you if you can't even try to help yourself.  Plus, I think it's just rude.
