As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Back to Reality... Sunday, July 14

I slipped out of the house in the morning to answer several business emails and texts.  I also made a couple of business calls even though I said I wouldn't.  So sue me.  It was inevitable that I'd sneak in some business this weekend, I mean, I do run my own business by myself.  It doesn't just keep on going on its own.  I have to push and pull it forward, make it grow with some TLC and extra attention.

My only regret this weekend was that I didn't enjoy it more than perhaps I should have and could have.

I don't do crowds and regardless of the fact that I do really like all my teammates, it was kind of a sensory overload for me and I really struggled to disconnect from work.  I think only when I was actually playing yesterday in the games that I actually managed to disconnect.  Other than that though, I kept on thinking all I had to do and the work that I'd have to play catch-up on once I got back to the mainland.
