As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

The Last Of the Holiday... Wednesday, September 10

It's the last day of this five day Chuseok holiday and looking back at what I did during it, hmmm, I can't say I really did much.  This holiday for me was all about avoiding the "when-are-you-having-a-baby" question that always seems to be on repeat overload during this particular holiday.  In addition to avoiding that particular question, it was all about catching up on much needed rest and relaxation and keeping things on the chill.

I've come to the conclusion that I'm a pretty damn lazy person when I'm not doing something work-related or working out/sports-related.  When I'm working or working out, I'm in full gear and am rather hyper.  But on my down time, wow, I really like to play up the word "down" in down time.  I hosted a Girls Night In event yesterday but it meant watching movies and people coming to me.  I must have got asked by a dozen friends to meet up for coffee this holiday but that'd mean me changing out of my tank top and leggings and combing my hair.  Plus with me not living downtown anymore, it'd mean getting on a bus or heaven help me consider walking.

I am a lazy mofu when it's not work-related or exercise-related.

Today we went downtown, stood in the sun and handed out flyers to complete strangers for about an hour.  But because it was work-related and I got to wear my training clothes, I was good to go.  Then we headed out for a picnic out by that lake we discovered yesterday.  Again, definitely a chill activity to do and I'm all about the chill activities -- coffee shop-sitting, watching movies, going for long drives, checking out new restaurants... doing this homepage.  The picnic was accompanied with a short nap which was definitely in line with just how down I get on my down time.  I wasn't particularly tired though so I got up to go for a walk.  However, it wasn't quite just a walk, me the lazy down time Polack doesn't do walks.  Now walk the path so that I can map out the distance and use it to plan my next run, that's definitely me; it was working out-related so I was in on it.  I should note here though that after the walk we did grab a coffee at the local coffee shop and just chillax there for a bit.

This Chuseok holiday was a super lazy one for me and I absolutely loved it.  I kicked off the holiday and said goodbye to it though by hosting a Crossfit Challenger class and then afterwards I did actually get dressed and go out -- we went out to a restaurant... hahaha.
