As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

A Me-Only Kind of Day... Monday, July 9

After a busy weekend packed with boxercise, personal training meetings and a Flipside Fitness event, I decided to give myself a day off -- a day to do whatever with whomever and where ever I wanted. Despite running into random friends and folks I know, I spent the entire day with just me... me and Balboa. Snickers left early this morning, 4am, beach-bound with his boys for a day and a half of swimming fun and testing out the snorkeling equipment I helped Wonder Boy buy last month.

My Top Ten Free Time Things I like to do here in Cheonan, Outside of my House:

1.  Cruise around on Gangsta Gotti
2.  Head to UP Boxing Club – for training and to check in
3.  Go for a picnic
4.  Watch the para gliders at our secret mountain side sweet spot
5.  Go late night mountain hiking with Pyen Chi
6.  Check out the traditional market
7.  Late night mosquito-tent, grass-laying star gazing (at another secret sweet spot)
8.  Search for and check out a new coffee shop
9.  Play outside with Pyen Chi and Balboa
10.Grocery store shopping/hunting

Today I did all but #2, #5 and #7. I’m off soon to go do #2 (go boxing) soon and the plan is to head out around midnight with Balboa to do #5. This means with the exception of #7, I will have done all my favourite free time things to do outside of my house -- sounds like a great day to me!!!

1. Cruise around on Gangsta Gotti
Jumped on the scooter a number of times today and went all over the place.

2. Head to UP Boxing Club – for training and to check in
Stopped by to do the laundry in the morning and I’ve got training tonight.

3. Go for a picnic
In between cruising here and there on Gotti, I took a break and sat by the Dankook lake to eat a brown-bagged lunch I had packed. Party for one.

4. Watch the para gliders at our secret mountain side sweet spot
The para gliders weren’t there today but what a beautiful ride out to this particular mountain side spot, wow. With a long winding empty road in front of me it was hard to resist gunning it and testing out Gotti’s speed… so that’s exactly what I did. Hit 130km and we were flying!!!

5. Go late night mountain hiking with Pyen Chi
Pyen Chi is still off with her boyfriend Jang Geun on their “couple trip” but the plan is to go late night mountain hiking with Balboa tonight after boxing.

6. Check out the traditional market
Totally did this today. Spent a good hour to an hour and a half there checking out the little side shops, tables and chatting it up with some select sellers I always greet when I’m there.

7. Late night mosquito-tent, grass-laying star gazing (at another secret sweet spot)
Ya, definitely not going to happen today. Snickers is beach-bound with his boys so laying in the grass out in the middle of nowhere just isn’t the same…. boooo!!!

8. Search for and check out a new coffee shop
Did this too today. Found a very cool mountain side coffee shop but it wasn’t actually open when I arrived today so I’ll have to figure out how to get back to it. It was a good twenty minute drive from downtown Cheonan and was basically the only thing out there.

9. Play outside with Pyen Chi and Balboa
No Pyen Chi around but Balboa and I definitely got our fair share of outdoor fun and sun today;)

10. Grocery store shopping/hunting
I feel like a guy because apparently the way to my heart is through my stomach so grocery shopping is fun for me. Moreover, searching out new grocery stores, seeking out random side street food sales, and simply hitting the local grocery store to stock up on more food and new interesting foods is very interesting to me. I love grocery shopping. Today I returned to a new store I had discovered the other day. It took me a good twenty minutes to get out there on Gotti.
