As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Never a Dull Day... Wednesday, August 21

I heard someone tell off someone the other day and their insult was "You're not bored, you're boring" and I was particularly interested in that insult.  I never seem to be short of things to do, things to amuse myself with, and I never am bored.  Snickers is the same and we joke that he's got A.D.D. because he never can sit still.  Ok, so A.D.D. isn't really something to joke about but it's all said in good humor, not to be mean or nasty, and it always gets Snickers going so that only continues the teasing.

It's never a boring day at Hulk's, or in my life for that matter, but life at Hulk's is always filled with hilariously interesting, amusing moments on a daily bases.

Today's hilariously fantastic moments, brought to you by the awesome people I call my "Hulk family"...

Trainer Stark -- who really isn't a trainer here but is still very deserving of the nickname Stark -- apparently has no problems with changing right in front of me.  He dropped his drawers right as I was walking up to him at the juice bar.  I guess he's clued into the fact that I've had one too many nudity scene walk-ins here to have anything phase me anymore.  I still thought it was hilarious though and the immaturity in me surfaced and I couldn't stop giggling.

Everyone seemed to be wearing everyone else's clothes today -- Trainer Stark wore Snickers' shorts, Snickers wore my shorts and, come to think of it, one female member wore my pants too.  I wore Snickers' socks, another member wore a pair of Snickers' boxing boots, and WOW President wore his son's shirt.  We all were a hot mess;)

Skin count for today: 3 -- two guys who took their shirts off to train when it was just them and me, and one girl that showed up for training without any pants on.   This one particular gal continually shows up with just an over sized t-shirt on.  I think it's hilarious but she is definitely restricted with what she can do because of it.  I finally had to bring her pants -- gave her two pairs of my older Adidas training pants.

One of my boxercise babes has lost so much weight that now he struggles with keeping his pants on during training... skin count up to 3.5; I think I can count him as a half.  I didn't see skin but it was definitely on the verge of showing.  Actually two members doing boxercise with me tonight had problems keeping their pants up... hahaha.

During boxercise, my members wanted to do "warm-up dancing" instead of skipping... loved their energy.  I still hadn't had a coffee at this point in the day.  Going anti-coffee just doesn't seem to be working for me so no sooner did boxercise finish but I was making myself a hot cup of jo.  Shortly after that I was quick to pop back into my "drug person" manner.

Yesterday's English phrase "Good job mofo" circled around the club a lot tonight and got just as many giggles and smirks as it did last night.

One of the WOW brothers joked about wanting to lick my Epop Bar when I offered to let him taste test it and when he motioned to lick it, without even thinking, I slapped him.  He said I was the first girl who has ever slapped him and though he said it hurt, I think I got extra cool points from him for being so feisty.

A recently new member who always seems all too overwhelmed by the crowd at training and usually goes as far as to put her back to the lockers and trace the wall when she leaves, really opened up to me tonight.  She's been hesitant to train with me because she initially met Snickers and he clued in fast to her shyness so he lets her train in the corner.  These past two nights though I've been training with her.  Tonight she turned to me during training and starting speaking close to fluent English!!! I was so shocked so I started laughing.  "High five to you!" I yelled as I high fived her.  Apparently she wanted to tell me something yesterday but had struggled so she went home and prepared some sentences to memorize and then come to the club to tell me.  Mad props to her; that's awesome!  Next thing I know it she's telling me how she begged her mom to buy her Adidas gloves like mine and how she wants to get a sandbag put in her bedroom.  And ok, so it wasn't a typically funny moment but I was amused by the total turn around in her manner and her interest in boxing -- very cool!!!
