Best quote said this week at the club -- "I trained so hard I lost my soul".
The best thing about my work "uniform" is that it's just like a bathing suit -- very comfortable, stretchy, breathable, and needs no drying after it's been washed.
The worst thing about my work "uniform" is that it's just like a bathing suit -- very body hugging, revealing, and leaves no real room to hide any insecurities I may ever have with my body.
I may not be shaping the minds of tomorrow but I am definitely helping shape the bodies of tomorrow.
Training at our club is very much like going to school -- our courses range from boxing and Crossfit to clean eating, and yes, I do assign homework (clean eating diary logs) to specific members.
Haven't been too successful at bringing back the "Good job Champ" pat on the bum, partly because most Koreans don't have a clue to as what I am doing when I do that, but I have been definitely physical with members. Slapped someone the other day, accidently and without even thinking, and have had my share of bum pokes and pulling members to other areas of the club, literally.
Meet my youngest gang member ever -- a 52kg boy I've started to train who turned 18 this month.
Toilet Thursday, which meant I cleaned the bathroom AGAIN -- two days in a row now. Dang urinal is about to get some serious beats from me if it continues to burn my nose hairs and smell nasty. I was so distracted by it during boxercise today in fact that I excused myself during the skipping part so that I could wash it down with bleach... again!!!
We're up to 127 members now... very cool... and we're averaging 3-4 new members a week. Of course, my focus is still on keeping the "old" members but it's exciting to see a new wave of members come with the start of school, change of season.
When I push it at training my legs, I walk like I just got off a horse. My arms stay flexed when I max them at training, my chest hurts when I go to wrap my arms around Snickers after chest day, my back feels tense, and my shoulders go red and hot when I work them hard. I complained the other day that I train my abs hard but never feel any kind of burn, strain, or tension after working them to extremes. I want to feel a burn, feel something... feel anything. Finally discovered what over training abs feels like -- it's a mix between getting punched in the stomach, wanting to puke. and holding an ab flex for well over it's expected time limit... very, very uncomfortable. I over trained my abs yesterday, I was determined to figure out what it'd feel like which, yes, that means I brought this pain upon myself, but I was curious. I'm curious like this. Did five sets of 20 hanging leg raises, for a total of 100, yesterday at the start of work and then another 100 at the end of my shift. However, in my second set of 100, with each leg raise I did I held it there for a 2-3 seconds and then raised it much slower than I usually do.
