As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

A Suitable Four-Legged Worker Needed... Wednesday, September 4

Our beautiful Pyen Chi returned to work at Hulk's today and we all were overly excited.  Perhaps too excited actually because she fell short on what we'd expect would become of her time with us at the club.  It's been two months since she's been at Hulk's so she's used to her days of lounging around the house and having no one tell her what to do.  She sleeps an average of 70% of the day away but at Hulk's her chances to sleep are low, especially considering putting her in the club office to sleep means frustrates her.  She wants to see what's going on and standing behind a closed door doesn't do well with her but her barking doesn't do well with us.

The day back at Hulk's proved too much to her and we had started to sense this when she growled at several of our members -- not cool.  Pyen Chi is not a bad dog, she was just having a bad day.  Her bad day however was overly distracting to Snickers and I, as well as intimidating to others.

Tomorrow we're going to try Balboa.

I sense he'll be a bad choice to bring.  He's a trouble maker who, if you don't watch him, he'll get into trouble.  Trouble for Balboa means stealing anything he can carry off in his mouth -- he's kind of a cleptomaniac.  It also means spraying random objects and eating anything he can swallow.  We definitely Balboa-proof the house before we go to work everyday -- we "Triple-Trouble-Proof" it actually.  Things get put higher on the shelf, garbage gets taken out, laundry is put away, the TV and air con remotes are put on top of the TV, and specific doors stay closed/open.  Before we changed the door knobs, certain door knobs also got tied together because Pacquiao has learnt how to open them.  Pacquiao knows how to open doors, Balboa knows how to climb/jump shelves, and Pyen Chi is over five feet when she stands up so she knows how to get things off the kitchen counter and even things on top of the water tower.

Apparently this week we'll be "doggie testing" which one of our 3 four-legged friends best suits Hulk's.

Pacquiao is our third option and I suspect that besides his minor anxiety attacks, he'll do great.  He's got great energy and he doesn't really care to approach people beyond watching them because he's nervous around new people.  He is more than comfortable chilling out in the office if it's busy and he becomes too much of a distraction.  Unlike Pyen Chi who can't hack the summer heat at the club and Balbao who'll freeze in the winter, Pacquiao's fur coat makes him suitable for all weather.

Our other option is to get another dog.  I've been pulling for this one specific boxer but the girl I've repeatedly have inquired to about has yet to get back to me and I am not one to chase people, so that dog is apparently a no-go just based on lack of information.  If we did get a fourth dog, it'd live 24/7 at Hulk's.  It'd pose as a live-in security as well as a companion for us and our members during business hours.
