As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

A Day Off?! No Thanks... Wednesday, March 13

Was at Hulk's for a total of 30 minutes and in that short time...

... I mistook a parent as a chicken delivery man when he walked in with a big box of fried chicken.  Side note here, what's with the extreme excess of chicken coming through our club doors, seriously? I love chicken, don't get me wrong, but my boxing coach in Canada would seriously upper cut to me to the gut if I came in with anything fried!!!  Just because it's fried chicken doesn't mean it is healthy chicken.  There's usually more fried than chicken.  Can we please stick to rotisserie chicken, please NO fried chicken!!! ...I'm just saying.

... I permanently put a particular Hulkie on toilet duty upon noticing he had the balls to wear a UP Boxing Club shirt at training, and during sparring of all times.  I mean, during sparring everyone always stops to watch.  All eyes were on him... and that dang shirt!!!

... fell and hurt my wrist, which was just SO great for training.  This is the exact reason why I make people change into indoor shoes.  If this wasn't my club and this were Canada, I'd be asking who to sue.  Found the culprit and made him train in slippers.  I love my Hulkies and don't want to be a harda$$ but dude that was not cool dude, so not cool at all.

... was approached by a parent who wanted to complain about his daughter's development of leg muscle. I gave him a good giggle but then took a step back when I realized he wasn't actually joking.  She hasn't developed so much, I mean it's not very noticeable and she is only 9 years old.  I usually make her, her sister and their friends play a lot of exercise games.  They think it's a lot of fun and that's the beauty of it for them -- them not even realizing they're training.  Looks like we'll have to stick to boxing only for the next week though.  I say week because I know she likes my games and she won't last more than a week without asking me to play Monkey in the Middle with the medicine balls.

I only anticipated staying an hour but stayed four and a half.

I did a crossfit circuit class with them and then waited for our 11pm Sushi Crew to come in for training so I could train beside them.  Because of the rain today I didn't get out to do my running -- I don't run in rain.  Instead, I banked on the Sushi Crew bringing some of their hyper, positive vibes to the club to get me pumped for training.  And that's exactly what they did.  We all end up getting very vocal and boy do those dudes sweat!!!  They yell, they sweat, and then they scream their heads off when they've finished an exercise -- it's fabulous and their determination and energy is just so contagious.

Training finished at 12:40am and then Snickers and I headed home.  I am down 1.3kgs from yesterday's weigh-in, sweet.  Now I just have to keep this up for the next 23 days... oh gosh.
