So ya, it's my day off but of course it's not and of course you already could guess that.
I thought perhaps the sight of me in a lazy jersey dress or me hiding out in my private reading nook would give Hulkies the hint it's my day off but, as it turns out, it wasn't my Hulkies who needed the reminder.
It was Snickers who needed the reminder... and me too for that matter.
Me sporting a jersey dress down to almost my ankles lasted for exactly an hour and twenty one minutes before I was just too uncomfortable wearing a pretty comfortable dress but one that's surely not my style. Off went the dress and on went the training clothes. When Hulkies discovered I was in my private reading nook they only interrupted my reading and coffee-drinking private time to ask about the Ultimate Smash daily ballots and to use my phone for a timer. But late in the afternoon it was Snickers who clearly milked me being at the club on my day off for all it's worth.
"I'm going to go nap for thirty minutes" he noted.
"Umm, I'm not exactly working", I reminded him. It didn't work though and off to the bedroom he went. I should note here that I had just told him about twenty minutes earlier that I was going to nap shortly. Not only did he beat me to my idea but he totally went for it, leaving me at the front of the club to manage and train the 12 Hulkies present at that particular moment.
So, on my "day off" I wasn't really working for only about two hours of it. The rest of the time I was working and at full speed, juggling managing the club and training all the members by myself for probably a chunk of it, both when Snickers napped and then again when he went out for dinner. I pretty much finished the planning part of our Hulk's first birthday, a few events spread over two days -- Sunday and Monday. On Sunday we'll be hosting a private dinner party for VIP Hulk members. It'll be a five course, possibly six course, meal at a countryside restaurant we have specifically reserved their dining room for. Nothing but the best for our members so, on that note, they'll be dining on Chungchungnam-Do's top rated steak. On Monday, we'll be hosting a Hulk Smash game during the day for our members to win various prizes. The prizes range from a free month's membership to Hulk handwraps. Then, in the evening, we'll be hosting a cake cutting event for members to enjoy and additional friends and family to come and enjoy. I finalized the plans today for 70 cupcakes and a small cake (just for the official ceremonial cutting part), and I have a grocery list of things to buy for it, like plates and whatnot.
I tried to read a book today in my private book nook, I really did, but my mind was just too distracted by things I could be, would be and should be doing for Hulk's birthday and the club in general. Ditching the idea of the day off of work seemed like the best thing to do; I couldn't really concentrate on anything else anyways. I quite enjoy my work, I definitely do. Confucius once said, "choose a job you love and you'll never work a day in your life", and I totally agree. So why take a day off of work when I really don't work anyways?! Exactly.
