As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Strange but Oh so Amusing... Tuesday, May 13

It was a two-cup of coffee kind of day for me today in that by the time early afternoon came around and Hulk's had only been open for an hour, I was already desperately needing a second cup of coffee.  I'm almost embarrassed to admit this but I woke up today at 11am, was at Hulk's by noon, and was dying for a second cup of coffee by 3pm... that's pretty bad.  What's even worse is that I feel asleep on one of the club front couches when the club was packed and ultra noisy.

Word on the street is my no-pants-wearing Hulkie wants to make a return to training... I'm hoping she'll return WITH pants this time.  Yes, you read right, I had a member who continually didn't wear pants under a shirt she insisted was a dress.  A dress?! Yup. Why the heck you'd wear a dress to the gym is beyond me .  It was a shirt, just an extra big sized shirt.  I totally loved teasing her about it and did it just about every chance I could but only because she was such a good sport about it.  Perhaps me teasing her about it kind of made it her trade mark and so she just kept up with it, just for kicks.

Coolio me went ahead and wrote up this huge crossfit circuit on one of the mirrors, only to realize to late that it was a permanent marker I had used.  Good stuff Amy.  No worries, figured out how to get rid of it but only after I totally blushed, went about a billion zillion shades of red, and some Hulkies had a good laugh.

With some members not knowing that Snickers and I are married, we'd have upped our PDA at the club -- public displays of attention.  Consequently, it's started this strange and deranged reaction among our growing group of high school boys. Every time Snickers goes to hug me, many of them rush over, making our couple hug a group hug.  Today's largest group hug consisted of six of us with me being right smack dab in the middle. A pose of high school bogs wrapping their pre-pubescent bodies around me isn't exactly the situation I want to be in but it is super hilarious.  They see us hug and then they drop everything they're doing to run and join in our hug -- you can't help but laugh at that.

Many people know the American TV show Jackass well here in Korea we're got something similar -- Cuckoo Crew.  They've become an Internet sensation here in Korea with their over-the-top immature pranks, ridiculous stunts and silly skits, and their whack of fans just love them.  Well, I'm now training three of them as just last week two signed up at Hulk's and then a third joined today.

Stranger things have happened, yes, but strange things continue to happen here at Hulk's... and we love it!!!
