With a full tank of gas and a full day ahead of us, Snickers and I were out-of-Cheonan bound. We didn't get too far however, because once we spotted that elevator standing tall and alone in the countryside, we headed there. There's an elevator company located just on the outskirts of Cheonan and it has this massive elevator beside their main building where they do testing. You can see it from far away and even from the highway. We didn't go in that direction because of the elevator but instead because of who lives by it Khan, Pyen Chi's first boyfriend lives there. He is 4 years old now and is a beautiful +80kgs Tibetan Mastiff, just like Pyen Chi. With his big fur mane and gentle eyes, he is a gentle soul and quite the gentleman. He's quite the ladies man actually in that his original owner used him to breed other dogs and got quite the pocket money for doing so. Among the dog breeders here, Khan is the most famous breeder in our province of Chungchungnam-Do. People pay big money to breed their dog with him and Khan himself came with a much negotiated price tag of $10,000 that a local man recently paid.
We met that local man today.
He has a farm nearby so we talked to him. He bought Khan with the intentions of breeding him but due to the man's sore knee he can you no longer walk Khan. Currently Khan is living in a cage no bigger than maybe my queen size bed, perhaps the cage is only as big as a double actually. And because of the man's situation, Khan now lives, eats, sleeps, and poops in that cage. His food dish was in a pile of poop and he had to step into a bigger pile of poop so that I could pet him through the cage. No dog should be living in such a confined mess, especially not a dog of Khan's size. I'm always surprised at just how gentle he is towards me considering his situation. I don't know if him living in that cage has broken him and he's not so much as a gentle soul as he is a hopeless one or if he is actually just a rare sweet boy. It would be nice to get Khan out of his caged-in life of breeding and into a real life with a real home and a real family that would love him.
Snickers wants to buy Khan and he has already started negotiations with the local man.
Snickers justifies buying Khan by reminding me of Khan's poor living conditions, a reminder I really don't need because I won't forget. Snickers thinks that we could buy Khan, get him out of that caged-in life and bring him here to Hulk's where he'd then live up on the rooftop in freedom. We're the only one who has access to the rooftop so there wouldn't be any issues with that. We could clean up the rooftop, build him a little house to sleep in and cage off part of the roof area so that he wouldn't be just running around wild. My number one issue with Khan however isn't where he'd live but if he'd be compatible with Pacquiao. Khan has already met Pyen Chi, we once tried to breed her with him for some friends of ours who also wanted a Tibetan Mastiff. However, she proved to be much stronger and more dominant than Khan so nothing more than Pyen Chi staying in a cage with him for a few days and eating the majority of his food resulted.
We talked a lot about this today and though I really don't want a fourth dog, especially not a massive, overly furry dog, but I do feel for Khan so I gave Snickers one stipulation. If we decide to take him, the current owner would have to let us have him for one day, to see how he acts outside of his cage with us. I'm curious as to how he'd act once let free in our club, if he'd go wild or if he'd remain the gentle giant that he's always been towards me.
A month ago or so it was a kitten, last week it was the street cat outside of Wow's restaurant, this past week it was the mini Hulkies' bulldog, and today is it Khan. Who is it going to be next week?!
