As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Surrounding Myself with Awesomeness... Wednesday, January 21

...this is very interesting and both scary at the same time, but choose carefully is definitely right!!

I am assuming whoever said this that they don't mean four-legged people and instead mean two-legged people because perhaps that would mean I'm going to start sleeping all day, chasing tail and licking myself.  I started talking about this very point today with one of my Hulkies, how you become like who you surround yourself with and I had noted to her that ever since I started Hulk's I have been so much more pickier with who I associate with.  My personal life and business life are rather mashed together and consequently what happens in one part definitely affects the other.  Drama with a friend means I am distracted at work and lack the energy needed to not only train my Hulkies but supply them with the positive energy they need to get through a workout.  I can't have that and so I am careful with who I give my attention to.  People either feed your energy or drain you of your energy and while my Hulkies require a lot of energy, they definitely give back more than they take because it's pretty awesome to see them training hard and pushing themselves through an intense workout.

So the above quote got me thinking, who are the five people I spend the most time with?  Good question.  And, if I'm picky with who I associate myself with, why exactly do I spend so much time with them?  I've always tried to surround myself with people I can learn from, friends who have some kind of extreme trait, skill or passion I myself also want to develop.  So I decided to write down who it is I surround myself with and what are their "key points" that attract me to them.

The 5 People I Spend the Most Time with and Give Most Effort Towards

1.  SNICKERS
Key Points:  Has developed amazing boxing skills from his natural talent, fun-loving spirit, thinks outside of the box, doesn't care what anyone thinks of him, has amazing personal self drive.
2.  WOW

3.  BUTTERCUP

4.  ROCKET
Key Points:  Excels in running, is a fierce competitor with fitness, is always well-mannered, she is easy going but very mature with how she approaches situations.
5.  LADY SUGGA
