As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

A Lot of Work but Still Not 100% Done... Saturday, March 7

Despite a lack of sleep, because of the excitement of it all at 8am we were up and ready for the new ring to come.  This past week it was being prepared out in Seoul so today a truck carrying it made its way out here to Hulk's in Cheonan along with two workers.  At 10am we got the call; the truck and the workers were outside on our doorstep.  We greeted the workers, discussed some general plans about how to go about this, and then at exactly 10:20am work started.  The two workers were expecting to do it all by themselves but from the very get-go of Hulk's both Snickers and I have never allowed work to be done without our involvement.  For starters hired help is expensive so we're trying to learn as much as we can from them while they're here, so that we don't have to call them back for extra work.  Moreover, this is our club and we want to be just as much a part of the construction and renovation of it all as our hired help.  We figure us helping also means the task takes less time.  Today's task, however, despite us helping the workers, after 8.5 hours the work finally stopped.  It's not totally done though.

Things Still Left to Do:
  • Adjust where the Hulk's Halo (light fixture) hangs.
  • Rent the drill and get a crew to fix Hulk's Halo (it's a 50kg light fixture).
  • Buy adhesive for the floor padding and possibly more floor padding too.
  • Reposition, cut and lay down the floor padding.
  • Design the Indiegogo sponsorship ringside label.
  • Get the sponsorship ring wall printed.
  • Take the ringside Indiegogo sponsorship pictures.
  • Get corner pad labels printed, then add them.
  • Trim the bottom of the ring skirt.
  • Figure out what to do with the ring skirt corners.
  • Design the writing for the corner pads.
  • Have the printers print our massive club label for the middle of the ring.
  • Readjust the ring rope coverings.
  • Finish the Indiegogo thank you cards/perk packages and then mail them out.
