As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

The Deconstruction of Our Old Ring

This was the first of many sentimental sights today, the taking down of our boxing ring's ropes.
Then came the folding of the floor tarp.
And then the taking off of the floor padding.
It was a bitter sweet moment... bitter sweet moments... but when the whole in the ring floor was revealed with all it's nasty, moldy wood, then we knew 100% this was definitely the right move.
And may I note here, huge appologies on behalf of Hulk's to all those who came from training today and had to smell that nastiness.
It was a whole lot of nastiness going on.
Once the wood was removed, it was time to take down the ring corner poles.
One by one they were unbolted from the floor and laid down.
It felt so strange to see that something that had taken us so long to plan for, save up for and then make come down in a matter of three simple hours.
