As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

For the Love of FitBit and Lists... Monday, May 18

There is definitely a feeling like I am some kind of super hero when the clock strikes midnight and I realize I just survived another Monday.  If I can get through Monday, the rest of the week is a breeze.

I got through this week's Monday with a breeze but definitely with a lot of forehead sweat and calories burned.  No new members today, that's a first for a Monday, but numerous Hulkies renewed their memberships.  I trained a total of 39 members plus I got in a two kilometer sprint on the treadmill, did my boxing and pushed myself through a grueling upper body weight training session before training our Hulkies.

And speaking of getting in my training,... let's turn your attention to my FitBit Charge HR.

One of the features of the FitBit is the ability to set daily goals for things like how much water you drink, amount of active minutes, and so on.  And, according to the American Heart Association, a goal of 10,000 steps a day is recommended for being trying to stay active so I thought I'd be an overachiever and set mine at 15,000 steps per day.  According to my FitBit Charge HR, today I burned 2,351 calories and took a total of 17,475 steps... and that's with me not even leaving the club!!!  I should note here that I don't wear my FitBit while boxing so that's 17,475 steps without taking into consideration those taken during my hour long boxing.  I am however able to log in the amount of time spent boxing so my calories burned count does take into consideration my boxing.  Honestly, I didn't think I lived such an active life until I got this FitBit.

Am totally in love with my FitBit, seriously in love with it.  The fact that I can set goals for all my stats and it makes a constant updated list of stats, well, it was love at first sight of that list.  Freakin' love lists and the FitBit Charge HR definitely feeds this love.
