As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

The Stress of my Stress Pouch

#1 Upper-body obesity:
This always means that you are eating the wrong foods and not exercising. Seeing a doctor is a great first step to formulating a fitness plan.

#2 Stomach-centred obesity:

This can be linked to the stress hormone cortisol being overly present in your system. Combining proper eating and exercise with stress and anxiety management techniques is the best route for this issue.

#3 Swollen-stomach obesity:

This is often caused by excessive alcohol consumption or difficulties breathing. Curb your drinking habits or check with your doctor if breathing is a concern.

#4 Protruding stomach with fat upper back:

This is often a sign of inactivity and poor eating habits. It can be a result of either not eating frequently enough or overeating at meals.

#5 Lower-body obesity:

It is critical with this form of obesity for you to focus on lower-body resistance training. Again, this fat collection is linked to lack of exercise.

#6 Lower-body obesity that includes lower legs:

This can occur due to pregnancy, and should be dealt with in the same way as #5.
