As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Never as Planned... Saturday, October 31

It's Halloween here in Canada and I don't ever recall it being like this! Halloween seems like it's exploded and is on steroids.  I left my apartment early to meet my friend but ended up using that extra time to sit at the Yonge and Bloor subway station and watch all crowds upon crowds of people decked out in their Halloween costumes.
My friend was right.  I'd be the only one without a costume.

Sitting at the subway station on a bench by myself, I was approached by random others not also not in a costume.  While quickly commented to me as they passed by, regarding us both not sporting costumes, others joined me on the bench and some even gave me a high five or thumbs up.  Too funny!!!

The plan was to go to the Drake but I could see the line up long before the street car I was on even got to the building.  I'm guessing there was 130-160 people waiting.  I wasn't going to add my Polish head to the long list of people waiting so I headed to a local pizza shop to sit and wait for my friend.  Ended up just leaving and heading to Bloor and Ossington to meet my Boy J.  The Polish Princess ended up meeting us and from there the night turn massive turn.  She wanted to hit a club but lines were way too long so I called up the Porkchop and he got us into his club.

The night went nothing like as planned.  I had left my house over an hour early, met up with friends I wasn't expecting to see, and it ended way later than expected -- got home at 6:05am.

Funny story here as to why I left the house early... I left my apartment early on account that my roommate was having a date over -- a guy she's been chatting with for awhile -- so I thought I'd be a cool roommate and give them privacy by being out of the apartment for the evening.  Well, when her date arrived I picked up all my stuff and scooted to the bathroom to continue getting ready.  Finished getting dolled up, walked out of the bathroom and who should I literally walk into but the guy I ate breakfast with this morning.  The Polish Princess and I had gone out for breakfast after clubbing with these two guys and there he was, the guy I had sat across the table from.  He was my roommate's date; how crazy is that?! Not sure what to make of him dating my roommate but in all fairness it's not like he asked for my number or was trying to flirt.  Regardless, I didn't feel comfortable sticking around the apartment to finishing getting ready, it was too weird for me, so I jetted it out like a flash.
