As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Back in the Ring for Beatings... Wednesday, November 4

Friday morning sparring got switched to today with today's sparring being one and a half weeks since we last sparred.  I had taken a week off boxing in this time also as a means on not only dealing with sponsors but also a means of nursing a head injury...but let's keep that all hush-hush.

I was eager to spar today but somewhat hesitant and curious of how I'd be because I took a chunk of time off my boxing training -- a full week.  A full week off of boxing, in my world, IS a big chunk of time, a very big chunk of time because not only do I box in the morning with Coach Brown but I also box in the evening with Double J at System.  Sticking to just weight training was mentally very frustrating but the break proved to be quite needed and quite beneficial to my boxing as proven in the quality of my sparring today.

Rest is as important to the body as training is.
