It was the night of the big Brawl on Bay Street black tie event so I joined many from my boxing club and headed downtown, all dolled up. I must admit, it was a lot fancier of an event than I had anticipated. It was hosted in an event hall where weddings are held!
The Polish Princess was helping out tonight with selling the 50/50 tickets so she got all dolled up too and joined me at the event.
She worked the crowd selling tickets and looking all pretty while I mingled and enjoyed the company of my date, Max -- a 14yr old fighter from my club.

I'm not one for dessert but this chocolate bread pudding, yikes, this is where everyone's desire to diet and lose weight totally got ignored!!!
After dinner the fights started. Some were more brawl-like than fights though but the crowd loved every second of them!
The fight that won the attention of the entire crowd was the one were a female amateur fighter from my club stepped into the ring. Those girls were hardcore!
Our fighter won!!!
I love this first shot of my coworker hugging her fighter. She had invested so much time and effort into this fighter. It was all worth it and she was so incredibly proud.

The upset of the night was this particular fight involving another fighter from my club, a male fighter. He took a mean body shot in the first round and went down -- fight over. It was incredibly upsetting because I've seen how hard he trains and he didn't even get a chance to show his stuff tonight. What had happened was two fighters didn't make weigh-in so they switched the opponents. His opponent was one that that didn't make weight and so he got switched, meaning it wasn't a fair fight to start off with.
I ended up getting called into the ring to help pick the winners for the 50/50 draw.
Felt funny to be in there with heels as opposed to boxing boots and ready to fight.
Snapped a lot of pics with a lot of people and these were my two favourite -- a fan and a former champ who looked exactly like someone very dear to me.
And of course I had to get a shot of us ladies from my club.

I had the honour of fighting in the May/2016 event; one of the best experiences of my life!
