As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

A Feeling of Hulk's at Clancy's... Tuesday, December 1

Whether I'm training at the boxing club or training at the fitness gym, I've got a good crew of positive people, hardworking athletes, and dedicated boxers in my corner.
Today I ventured out to another boxing club, to put another positive person in my corner -- Kristina from Clancy's Boxing.  Her boxing club did the Agency Wars that I just attended and today we met up to share ideas and just simply meet face to face.
And yes, this is the entrance to her boxing club -- gorgeous!
The front counter area also includes a sitting area for her members and I quite liked that idea.  I'm sure many of her members relax and mingle here probably both before and after their training.  It's a nice "community-builder" you could say; smart idea!
The club is fabulous, I really liked it, and it had some really key things that stood out for me.  One thing that stood out was the Chihuahua, that was an obvious, but also this high tech heavy bag.  This particular heavy bag counts how many times you punch it in a minute.  They had used this when they were training the fighters for Agency Wars.  They did both a pre 12 week training trial run and then had each fighter give it a go after their 12 weeks of training.  Everyone had improved their punch count and some people went as far as to double their count.  That's awesome and I thought such a true testimony to the dedication and success of their training.  Fabulous job!!!
It was really awesome to meet them at Clancy's and I left feeling super inspired to start on my so-called "Second Dream" but to tell you the truth it left me feeling as excited as I was sad.  They've created such an awesome community here at this club, especially with promoting boxing with the women, and I felt that this really was an English version of what I had been doing in Korea.  Having said that, now that I'm in Canada I feel like I've taken that away from the women at my club who were really benefiting from it and who had made me and my club a part of their identity.
