Found my mouth guard -- the last of my Moon Tower sponsored mouth guards. Would have been nicer if I found it before it got accidentally thrown into the laundry with my clothes. Hey, where's that Korean dude in my building who has randomly done my laundry?! He would have caught that!!!
Today was very much anticipated to be a down-in-the-dumps kind of day but it turned out to be so NOT that!!! With the exception of finding my melted mouth guard in my pocket, everything else was great. One of my PT clients rescheduled his appointment with me but it worked out to be perfect because one of my coworkers really needed someone to sub-coach her class so that she could attend a funeral ceremony for a friend.
A contact on my Facebook page randomly messaged me to check up on me and we ended up getting into quite the open discussion. He originally messaged me to ask when I'd be fighting next but then extended friendship to me and offered to be a shoulder for me to lean on. He manages some female boxers in the States and went through a somewhat similar situation to what I am currently going through so what started off as a simple question evolved into more and it was nice. Always awesome to have this unexpected encouraging moments. He really helped to give me a second wind to get my Polish butt through the rest of the day.
Coach Brown says people always seem to be really good to me and I say it's because energy is contagious. Both good energy and bad energy is contagious and I try hard to always be positive, to really love life. I think if you're good to people, people will be good to you and my proof is in a generous dose of sweetness I scored super early in the morning. You see I am at the boxing club most days at 6:30am and so when one of our regular boxers asked if he could come in early and train I said "sure". Today I noticed he had the same earphones as I do -- an overly expensive pair I was given by one of my former boxers. Just recently I damaged one of the ear pieces and lost another. Today this particular boxer saw my sad looking earphones and offered to bring me replacement pieces. I don't think the pieces are very expensive but none the less he doesn't have to do that and his offer to help me was very sweet.
My niece texted messaged me during one of my Boxfit classes and that just melted my heart. She only wrote hi and her name but the fact that I'm now in the same country as my family and can see them whenever I want really hit me. It's been 11 years since I've been able to say this. It's such a luxury now!
Picked up a new PT client and today we met and trained for the first time. I'm not going to lie but my clients are always super awesome. I have yet to train someone that I'm not intrigued by, don't click with or don't really enjoy training. I always say I don't like personal training but I always seem to get really cool clients to train, how ironic is that.
A fellow boxing buddy at System stood by chatting with me while I did my boxing warm up on the spinning bike. I had talked to him the other day about getting new gloves and had given him some recommendations that he has since checked out. We also chatted about time management and he teased me about how busy I am. Yes, I am really busy. I technically only work 5 hours a week -- 5hrs of paid work -- but do so much beyond that. My days of leisurely laps at the lake, strolls in the park, and corner coffee shop people watching are definitely not an every day or every week kind of thing. I'm juggling 9 different projects right now but my own training takes priority over everything in my life right now. Today, for example, I woke up at 5:30am and didn't go to bed until 1:10am. I could have gone to bed earlier but I really wanted and really needed to get in my workout so I trained practically right up to closing at System.
