As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Starting the Year Off... Friday, January 1

I didn't do my traditional New Years day ritual of writing out my yearly resolutions.

My friends say resolutions are overrated while Double J says why wait till the start of the new year to make goals.  I think Double J's words are right up there with those who say they don't celebrate holidays because everyday is special -- it's an easy cop-out; a cheap excuse why not to do something.

I will write out my new year resolutions and share them with you, just not today.

This is going to be a new year for me though and it's going to be very much a big year for those in my life because I've got a lot of baggage from 2015 to unload and it's going to cause a big stir of commotion and emotions. I also have a lot of new projects I want to start and a whole new life I want to share with friends and family.

I met up with Ginger Spice today and we chatted long about this over coffee and while putting my bed together back at my apartment.  My apartment is officially named "The Penthouse", just so you know.  Anyways, after we were done making the bed we set up the pillows and the blanket.  She said she liked my blanket and then I started to tell her the history of it.  It was my wedding gift made for me by my mom over 6 years ago now.  Snickers had seen the blanket but had never actually slept with it.  It was too big and too heavy to take it to Korea so we figured we'd keep it at my parents house until we moved back to Canada.  We never did move back to Canada but now I am here. When I moved into The Penthouse my dad dropped off the blanket.  It's big, it's beautiful, and it was the last big thing my mother had made for me.

No new years resolutions made yet but definitely one gorgeous and super warm bed was made... nice.
