As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Us Bere's Celebrate Papa Bere's Bday... Friday, February 12

My brother Bobby-B made cabbage rolls.

Let me repeat that...

My brother Bobby-B made cabbage rolls!!!

Cabbage rolls are like sacred chunk of grade A goodness, a gold nugget of my Polish family's history passed down through the generations.  My father's mom, my Baba (my grandmother) taught my Mama Bere (my mom) when she first married my father and then my Mama Bere taught both my brothers, T-Roy Rex and Bobby-B before she passed. I never got a chance to learn because I spent the last 11 years in Korea, it's a regret I will forever have.

Most don't understand the time and effort that goes into making a cabbage roll.  Just the cabbage alone goes through quite the time-consuming process.  It has to be boiled in a big pot of hot water and then each leaf has to be individually and so carefully peeled and plucked off the stem of the cabbage. Then of course there is the chopping, cooking and mixing of all the ingredients to stuff within the cabbage.

I haven't talked to Bobby-B in 4 years... FOUR YEARS.... 1, 2, 3, 4... but today I did.

See, that's the magic of a Polish cabbage roll!!!  It brings family together.
