As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Celebrating and Kicking Off the Newest Chapter in my Life

Arrived at Clancy's Boxing for their big St. Patty's Day Rumble and the place was
quickly packing up with eager fans and spectators.
It was Clancy's first time at hosting a tournament and they did awesome.
Snapped some pics with some of the boxers I've been training alongside here.
Great crew and they clean up so well!!!
My buddy Left Hook was there -- he's always a crowd favourite and favourite of mine.
Having gone to the Olympics for boxing and introducing me to the wonderful world of boxing, he definitely has a special place in my heart.
And this lovely lady, this is who reached out to me when I first came back to Canada.
I don't quite have a nickname for her just yet but she's a pretty important lady at Clancy's (manager/coach) and she's pretty important to me too.
As for this cute man, this is Coach Rico.  He's pretty awesome.
I train with Coach Perez at Hardknocks during the day and then do team training with Coach Rico in the evenings, a few times a week.  He's one of those old school coaches who just really loves what he does and is passionate about the sport.
I won't go into introducing everyone in my picture, I think some of them you can tell who they are based on appearances and what they're wearing.
I snapped a lot of pics with a lot of people in the boxing community -- boxers, coaches, fans, boxing officials, and even a boxer's mom.
One of the highlights of my night though was running into this particular boxer.
As soon as I spotted her I approached her and said "We're Instagram friends"... hahaha.
And we are too but now we've actually met in person.
Unfortunately she didn't win her bout tonight but she gave it her all and that's all you can ask for.  I thought it was pretty awesome to be there watching her fight.  Girl is hardcore.
During the second female bout on the card, I was asked to present the medals at the end.
So they called me on stage at the end of the fight and introduced me to everyone.
It was such an honor and I really appreciated the whole club giving me a round of applause.
It was the perfect ending to what had started off as a very upsetting day and all those feelings of heartbreak and disappointment were quickly erased and replaced with a feeling that everything had worked out for the better.

I am steel, I am stone.  I can do this... watch me!!!
