As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

He Once was Lost but Now He's Found... Wednesday, July 6

Balboa's back.  The world can continue spinning and I can stop holding my breath.

I had looked online, on a website that lists found and lost pets in the GTA, and had been monitoring the site every hour on the hour since I got back home early this morning.  At 8am a new posting got listed.  It had no picture but had noted that an hour ago a brown Chihuahua with tan and white markings had been spotted at Castle Frank subway station, on the tracks.  That station is but a hop, skip and a jump away from my house.

I knew it had to be Balboa.

So I called the number listed on the site and talked to a lady.  When she asked if he had any distinguishing features I blurted out "YES!!!  His eyebrows.  He has these super cute little blond.... tan.. eyebrows!"  She responded by giggling and saying "yes, he most definitely does". And just like that I knew it was him.  I was so excited and off I raced on the back of Captain Bowtie's motorbike, up to the North York shelter.  They would have taken him to the downtown one but something about setup for some big car race has closed that one temporarily.  Regardless, I didn't care.  You could have told me I had to travel to the moon and I would have gone there.  I love my Balboa Button!!!

He looked so skinny but so relieved to see us at the shelter and as soon as he exited those big doors he was back to his normal self, jumping around and being silly.  I can't believe he took off like that.  I can't believe I lost him.  To think he came all this way, all the way from Korea, and then went missing in Canada.  Oh gosh.  Well he's back and God knows I'm going to keep a better eye on him.  He's way too special to me to lose again!!!
