Happy birthday to me!!!
By early afternoon today 91 people had taken it upon their sweet selves to privately message me some birthday wishes and extra lovin' on Facebook.
Total Facebook private messages received today, 143!!! Thank you everyone. Much love!
Original plans got somewhat postponed. Actually, plans got rewritten a few times, more than a few times, but then they got postponed so I went to the library to geek out with some work research while they got back on track.
Foo Man Choo arrived in Toronto and took me to the lake.
A trip to the beach is kind of like a fool proof plan when it comes to making me happy.
I love, love, LOVE the lake!
Not too sure how much I liked knowing that I might possibly run into Jerkhead (aka A$$-and-a-half, the highway drop dude) on my birthday while at the lake. Thankfully we didn't but I was in fight mode for a bit there, walking on the boardwalk.
After the beach, we headed to check out a trendy hotspot that neither of us had eaten at. It's a trendy deli owned and operated by this tattoo, fierce-looking young gal and her sandwiches were just as awesome as her whole fierceness.
Foo Man Choo knows all too well my love for ice cream so he wanted to take me out to this incredibly trendy place. We had to wait about 40 minutes and, between you and me, NO PLACE ever really lives up to its hype when it's overly hyped.
The place was very cool. They had homemade ice cream and offered things like ice cream sandwiches in homemade cookies but their big thing is an ice cream waffle. It's two scoops of ice cream in a fresh, made-on-the-spot waffle cone.
I waited in a long line and then waited another 10 minutes because that's the added wait time for a fresh waffle. Leave it to me and tell Foo Man Choo that I'm not into waffles but this really wasn't what I thought a waffle to be. It was okay but not great.
Was it more hype than anything? Yes and no.
Would I wait that long in line for ice cream from them again? Hell no!!!
Having said this though, it did make for a nice evening out because of who I got to wait in line with and it being my birthday. I think this place is one of those places you need to try at least once, it is a very cool place, but I don't know about making it necessarily a regular thing.
