As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

A Step Closer to Normal... Tuesday, September 6

While most kids were putting on their new clothes, waving their parents goodbye and heading out the door for their first day back to school my little nephew was sitting in the hospital bed, waiting to go home.  His mother, my sister-in-law, had called the school yesterday and left a message, telling them that he'd be away from school for at least the first week.

Around noon he got to go home and it was a bitter sweet moment.

I had to head back to reality which for me meant back to coaching, back to juggling my own training -- boxing, running and weight training, back to studying and researching for my business venture, and back to my business meetings.  I had come dressed last night for today's morning business meeting and so no sooner did I leave the hospital but it was straight into the board room.  I dropped by my club and then raced home to shower and change, only to then return for an 8 hour shift of coaching. Coaching till 8pm was then followed by me scooting off to System for my training.

Returned home at 10:40pm.

I managed to take Balboa for a walk and play time before I headed off to coaching and then again after I returned after training.  When I returned home it was creeping up to 11pm and despite Balboa being cooped up and ignored for pretty much the entire day and the weekend, he still greeted me as if I was Christmas walking in the door.  I scooped that little boy up, kissed him all over his face and then said sorry to him.  "This is why I don't have a kid", I joked to him.  "I don't even have time for me."  Ain't that the truth!
