As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Redefining Age

I'm proud to be a strong woman but these days I find myself moreso proud to be "close to my 40's", as I always tell people.  At the female-only gym where I coach part time, I'm surrounded by strong women, most of which are older than me and I find it so inspiring.
Age is just a number but it's amazing to see who really wears that number well.
I love it when I meet someone who really makes you reconsider
what you think it means to be a certain age.
I always thought I had bragging rights because I'm 36 and my body's strength and capabilities can kick the butts of many much younger than me but everyday I am shocked to see the women I train breaking down age-related stereotypes.  I hope I stay young and strong like them.
