As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Out of the City and Into the Barbershop

I think the Philippines that a lot of people envision and the Philippines that's actually here are very different.  Sure, there are the poor parts of this country, every country has that, but this country is definitely booming and it's gorgeous.
Today I headed to one of the more posh parts of the country; I headed out to Rockwell.
I've been debating whether or not to get my head shaved again or grow it out and tonight I was treated to a visit to the barbershop where I then had to decide.
Side note, check out the record player.  That's how they play their music there.
There's a girl that changes the records.  It's so old school, I love it!!!
I didn't go for the full barbershop spoiled treatment but wow, I think the treatment
I've been getting at these barbershops alone is what is going to keep me rocking the shaved side.
In the end, yes, I went for the shave.  I love how clean it looks and the sick defined lines.
I am a barbershop junkie!
