As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Fighting Off Discouragement... Friday, August 25

Had a bit of a heartbreak last night and today I dwelled way too much on it, to the point that it meant I didn't go to boxing.  I struggled trying to shake it off today so I tried to keep myself busy.

I was told by the broker that the building owner for the space I fell in love with raised the price.

The price went from being tight and hard-but-manageable to way over my budget.

I was so disappointed.

The plan was to keep myself busy today, push the numbers aside just for the day because they were consuming me, so I headed out of the house.  Lunch from SaladStop and then a facial at the mall.   Massages and facials are pretty cheap here in the Philippines.  My salad at SaladStop which was just a regular Cobb salad was more expensive than my facial.  Anyways, I've never had a facial before... ever... so today was a first.  I didn't know what to expect but I know a lot of my friends get them.  I was TOTALLY shocked at just how painful it was, seriously.  My friends get squeamish over watching boxing but they can lay there for an hour and endure someone taking out each and every one of their blackheads?!  Now that just doesn't make sense to me at all.

While I was at the mall, I decided to check out that outfit in the display window that I had seen last night and had labelled my "Boss Babe" outfit.  In the window, the outfit is beautiful but seeing it up close in the store, wow, it was absolutely gorgeous.  It's this thick material that is embellished with stunning embroidery work.  But as gorgeous as it was the price was just down right nasty.

[Enter drum roll here...]

The total price for the entire outfit (blazer, pants and shoes) totalled 195,000Php, that' $5270Cdn.

Ya, you'd definitely have to be a Boss Babe to be able to even afford it... yikes!!!
