As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Fight Day in The Philippines

Image result for gretel de paz
It was fight day here in the Philippines and with a loaded fight card with four championship
belts on the line you best believe I was there!

Ran into one of my sparring partners there, Bea.  She was there doing a piece on the fights and she introduced me to Gretchen, one of today's female fighters.
Fights in the Philippines, they're on a whole other level that I never did quite see in Korea or in Canada.  This particular fighter got caught with a body shot to the liver and down he went.
Down he stayed too, for a while.. for quite a long while.  Fight was called.
In came Gretchen for her fight against a fighter from Thailand.
For a small fighter, Gretchen definitely has packed on a lot of muscle and throws a mean punch.
There was another female fight on the card, it was THE fight I had come specifically to watch.
