As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

Still in Slow-Mo... Friday, January 4

Spent a good chunk of my day at the gym -- cardio, lower body functional training and then the steam room.  I'm kind of addicted to my new gym, not going to lie.  It has a front sitting area with coffee, tea, and even computers.  I stuck around for a bit after training, to catch up on emails and enjoy some of their fruit tea.

I didn't go to boxing today.  I took the day off and just spent it at the gym.

I just wanted to be alone to train.  Nothing against Coach Marcelo, gosh no, he's awesome, but I just wanted to be left to do my own thing.  Plus, I didn't want to have to travel all the way there and back when I could just walk down the street to the gym.

Truth be known I'm feeling anxiety over the fact it's already Friday.

I haven't coached this week because all my clients are just now returning from their holidays trips and are easing back into daily life.  I haven't coached for a few weeks because of their holiday plans and my required fight prep stuff.  Next week though it all returns to normal... to "normal".  Normal for me will once again be waking up at the crack of dawn, like 6am, and then racing off with my body weight full of coaching and training gear in my bag to my first client.  I'll have clients back-to-back and then will continue on to my own training, boxing.  My boxing has resumed already and next week my rugby will resume too.

I feel like 2019 is starting off on definite Filipino time... super slow and kind of painful in that sense.

Can't wait till my coaching and ALL my training resumes to full speed -- normal speed for me.
