As the story has it, one day I headed to the opposite side of the globe – the Flipside. I arrived in Korea February 16th, 2005 and thought I’d do a year, then leave. I was wrong. I stayed, launched my first company, Flipside Fitness, and then opened Korea's largest boxing club, Hulk's Boxing (now called Hulk's Club).

After 11.5yrs in Korea, I then picked up one day and returned to Toronto, Canada. But then I left again.

Now I live in the Philippines where I am the CEO and head coach of Empowered Clubhouse, the Philippines' first and only boxing clubhouse exclusively just for women. I also am the founder of the Lil' Sistas Project, CEO and designer of Slay Gear and Baa Baa Black Sheep .Ph.

A Beautiful Night of Art and Stories

Headed out of town on a rainy Saturday to go see the special art exhibit
for the benefit of the Voice of the Free.
I sat by the back and was surprised to see so many of my Lil' Sistas there -- 2 full rows of them!
Of course, running into the founder of the Voice of the Free, the very lady that created the Center of Hope, is always such a pleasure.  She is definitely my #goalwoman.  God has a special place in Heaven for her, I'm totally convinced of it.
Tonight's art exhibit showcased numerous Pinoy artists' work and it was beautiful.
I have to say though, my favourite was the artwork of the Lil' Sistas that I coach boxing too.
I'm biased, I know, but I also know a lot of them used art as a means of expressing and dealing with their struggles as a human trafficking survivor.  They may not have had the skills like the professional artists, but I vouch their artwork was loaded with emotions and stories we don't even want to imagine.
Thanks to the ladies of the Center of Hope for waiting curb side with me as I waited for my Angkas.  These ladies clearly do have hearts of gold and you just have to give them oodles of respect for the continual support and positivity they show the girls at the Center of Hope.
